Established for over 8 years, Rogues’ Gallery is a small thrift and antique shop in Merced, California. The store is filled with antiques, collectibles, artwork, clothing, furniture, vinyl records, memorabilia, and more, with new items arriving every week. It feels more like an old man’s garage than a traditional retail store, where customers can wander around, find something unexpected, and buy, sell, barter, or trade.
The original idea was to build Rogues’ Gallery a full eCommerce platform where customers could browse and purchase items online. I planned to use Next.js, Node.js/Express, Stripe, AWS, and an inventory tracking system.
After looking at the infrastructure costs, a full eCommerce platform was more than the client could support. I decided to scale the project down and focus on what would be most useful for the business. The project became a promotional website centered around the store, its products, location, and character.

The final product is a promotional website designed to give people a reason to visit the physical store. It showcases the store, its products, hours, location, and approach to buying and selling.
